This land sale transaction marks one of the first commercial land sales in Kelvin’s career, which launched Heck Land Company and Kelvin’s understanding of the sales side of commercial farm land. The Pine Family owned 100 acres of fertile cropland near the Kansas River. They listed the land with Kelvin. The buyer came to Kelvin through a referral from an irrigation contractor for the Pine Family Landscape Center.

The buyer, a doctor in Topeka, had a passion for farming and wanted to continue farming on the side of his career. The buyer and seller were both easy to do business with and could be trusted to do what they said they were going to do. It was the first of many ‘feel good’ transactions.
